A Few Words About Finances

I cannot wait for our first tailgate of the year! Believe it or not, preparations are made literally year round for football season and tailgating. Well before the season starts, we spend a lot of money stocking up on paper supplies, bottled water, chafing dishes, sterno cans, table cloths, trailer storage, you name it. I thought you might be interested to know that for the 2007 season, our tailgate cost about $2000 (give or take). This figure excludes another $2000 in "big ticket" purchases, like the trailer in which to store all the equipment.

At $10 a head, it would be tough to find better food or a better part on campus. The good news is that if 10 more people per home game paid, we would break even. I know sometimes it may be tempting not to pay if you're not going to eat, but I just wanted to point out that the $10 is our way of getting back a lot of sunk costs that go into having the awesome experience we have.

If you bring a friend, be a good host and throw in $10 for them. And whatever is left over after we pay our expenses goes right back into the tailgate. Just wait until you see the upgrade for watching the satellite. The only bigger screen on campus is in the scoreboard. Just saying.

Go Dawgs! GATA!

Georgia Southern Tailgate Plans

Kickoff time for GSU is 12:30 pm. We'll be there early to set up and enjoy the morning. We're going to have an omelet station and a pancake griddle. We tried this for the Kentucky game last year, and it was a huge hit. Mmmmmm.....Chick-Fil-A omelets.

Don't you remember how yummy those omelets were last year?

Anyway...I'm sure the other yummy breakfast snacks will be around too.

Please show up early so we can enjoy our first tailgate of the season! If you want to bring a breakfast type food item that would be spectacular as well. If you plan on bringing something just leave a note in the comments section.

Thanks and GO DAWGS!
