Bloggy Renovations

I finally fixed the logo. TW -- if you want to go into the template and adjust it, feel free. The weather app that you added last year was great. It got lost when we moved over to the new blogger.

Georgia Tech Kickoff at 3:30 pm on CBS

They have announced the kickoff for the GT game. A 3:30 kickoff will give us time to put together a bigger event. Probably not something as large as the UT Extravaganza, but it'll be interesting.

We're going to do Chili - everyone bring a pot of something warm to eat. We'll having chaffing dishes to keep things warm and we can probably run some crock pots too, since our generator is big enough to power most of the tailgates on South Campus :)

If you can't bring some Chili or a pot of something for others to eat then we could use the following items:

    Fritos
    Sour Cream
    Shredded Cheddar Cheese
    Corn Bread
and any other condiments that are good with Chili.
Please use the comments section to let us know what you are bringing. We hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving, safe travels and good time with family!

In the meantime, this cracks me up every time I see it.

Mississippi State Tailgate - CANCELLED

We're not doing anything this week. Everyone enjoy the morning off.

However, I would like to pose the idea that we bring back the Chili cook off for the Tech Game. Hopefully it will be at 3:30 and chili will be a good break from all of the Thanksgiving regulars.

GO DAWGS!!!

Vandy Tailgate

This is going to be short and sweet. Since we are facing another 12:30 kickoff plans will be minimal this week. We're going to do BBQ again and we'll eat before the game.
The cost wil be $5 and feel free to bring some snack/sides.
No plans for post game since there is nothing but crappy football on until 7:45.

Sorry this is so late...

Tennessee Tailgate: 7:45 pm Kickoff

We will be having BBQ, ribs and chicken on Saturday, and we will be serving both lunch and dinner at the tailgate. The price will be $10/person plus booze unless you bring your own.

Please bring drinks and side dishes on Saturday.
It would be especially helpful if you would post what side dishes you're planning on bringing in the comment area just below this post. If you don't know how to do that or aren't comfortable doing that, email Tiffany. We'll be tailgating for almost 10 hours, and we're going to need some help with the sides to make it all work.

(NOTE: I updated the blog settings to allow anyone from our group to comment without registering with Blogger.com. So commenting should be easier).

Also, weather on Gameday should be exceptional. As of Tuesday morning, Weather.com is predicting a high of 74 degrees and an overnight low of 50 degrees with only a 20% chance of rain on Saturday.

Colorado Tailgate: 12:30 Kickoff

No, we didn't join the Big 10--but with all the early kickoffs it does feel like it. We'll do a tailgate similar to last week's, with breakfast-type foods and no plans after the game.

Also, we will plan to use a bicycle lock to lock the tents and chairs together after our red "G" tent was stolen last week. Check here for a preview of Saturday's game.

Tailgate Plans - 9.16 UAB Edition

Due to another early kickoff we are going to crank it down a knotch this week. We will be out in the morning with some snacks and stuff and I will bring the TV to watch Gameday. Other than that we will not be officially cooking or having any other meal that day.

Have I mentioned how much I HATE early kickoffs. I'm not sure what we'll do for next week's early kickoff but we'll let you know as soon as we decide.

Ugapalooza on the Road - USC version 9.9.06

Well everyone, it's that time again. Since we'll be in the horrid town of Columbia for most of the day on Saturday I figured we better have some good food.
Our menu will include:

Tequila Lime Chicken with Ranchero Sauce
Bourbon Chicken
Twice Baked Potatoes
Baked Beans
Sweet -n- Sour Green Beans

We are planning on some other snacks and sweets to get us through the day.
I've got the water and soda beverages covered as well.

Elizabeth is doing the baking and has everything covered in the sweets category.
The cost for everyone will be $10.

Go Dawgs!

Confirmation on the plans for Sat. AM. Everyone is meeting at the McDonald's in Greensboro (I-20 at GA 44 , exit 130) between 8:30 and 8:45. Then we have to pick up Adam in Augusta off Washington Road.

Let me know if I have forgotten anything...

Opening Day Plans: Western Kentucky

What better way to let everyone know about our tailgating plans than create a blog? Bookmark this site, and we'll post updates before each game. Please feel free to make suggestions, menu requests, or whatever. Under the totalitarian regime new gameday gameplan, tailgating begins at 7:00AM. Official rules can be found here. We will make sure someone arrives at 7:00AM to claim our traditional spot at the Coliseum and set up. Kickoff is at 12:30PM, so pre-game tailgating will be brief. We plan to have breakfast and snack foods.

Post-game tailgate plans call for grilling chicken quarters and pork tenderloins, while watching the afternoon's games.

What can you do to help?
1. $5 per person will help us cover the costs of providing meat & sides. If you plan to drink, bring extra money or BYOB.
2. If everyone brings a 12-pack of their favorite soft drink or water, we will stockpile them for the season and bring the drinks for each game.
3. Bring a side or snack that can be easily stored or kept in a cooler during the game.

Saturday's forecast calls for 87F with isolated early showers, clearing later in the day. At this point it looks like Ernesto will spare us any serious bad weather.

Be prepared for difficulty finding a parking space, particularly if you plan to arrive later. Because no parking will be allowed on curbs or sidewalks, there will be more cars fighting for fewer spaces than ever. Consider carpooling, and prepare yourself for the ugly fact that if you come late you will probably have to park at the Intramural Fields or East Campus Deck. If you have not done so already, you may want to consider buying a space in a deck for the rest of the season. Passes go back on sale September 9 for the remaining 6 games. You can buy a pass here.

My mother wouldn't nurse me, and that is why I am such a miserable, petty man.

Coming Attractions

We're less than one month away from the start of football season. Here's a look at coming attractions for the 2006 season:

Question: What does an inflatable Hairy Dawg, a 25-inch television, a satellite dish and a crock pot have in common?
[Answer: Dedicated Electricity]
