Troy Tailgate = Canceled

Due to the early kickoff and the marathon from Jacksonville, we're still recovering. So we're going to take a break this week for everyone to enjoy homecoming festivities.

However, Auburn is a 3:30 kickoff so be prepared for an awesome tailgate. The turducken is coming back better than ever. This will be our first 3:30 kickoff since 2005!! So everyone come early and come hungry.

Ole Miss Tailgate Plans

We're going to do something small pre-game. No after game plans are currently slated. The Troy game will probably be pretty low key as well as it will also be a 1:00 pm kickoff.

Don't let the low key nature of Saturday's Ole Miss Tailgate discourage you from coming by. We'd love to see you. Nor should the low key nature of the morning tailgate stop you from bringing something interesting to eat for breakfast. Bring it on.

Also -- The Turducken will make its return to the Tailgate scene for the Auburn game. More on that later. Also, I'm of the opinion that the Kentucky game will quite possibly be a 3:30 pm kickoff so we will do something interesting that week as well.

Go Dawgs.

Western Carolina Tailgate Plans

First off, thanks to everyone who came out for the South Carolina game. This coming weekend, we're playing Western Carolina with a 1:00 pm kickoff.

Due to the kickoff time and the nature of the opponent, we're flying pretty lightweight this weekend. We'll serve breakfast in the morning, and we have no tailgate plans after the game.

Bama beat Western Carolina by 50 or so points in Week 1. It'll be interesting to see how we compare to that.

There won't be a $10 food charge this week. It'll be something less depending on how many folks show up. If you want to bring something to eat, that would be great.

South Carolina Tailgate Plans

I just wanted to send a quick update to get to word out there. I'm sorry this is so late in the week, but I think Josh, Jasen and I have all been out of town this week.

First, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who brought sides and desserts last week. I think everything was a huge success and it helped having so much food to feed the big crowd. I think there will be at least a crowd equal to last week, and maybe a little larger because it is a conference opener.

The plan as it stands now is to have chicken, chicken, and more chicken. I'm going to cook it a few different ways like smoking some of it, grilling some of it and also making some beer can chicken. It will be the same deal as last week, since it is a 5:45 kick off, in essence we will probably need to eat twice. So there will be plenty of meat and if it goes like last week, plenty of sides!

So... whatever creative sides you can think of to go with chicken please bring it!!

Just leave a comment as to what you are going to bring so that everyone can see it. Please e-mail us or leave a comment if you have any questions.

GO DAWGS!!!!

Oklahoma State Entree and Sides (Lunch AND Dinner)

Update - Thanks to all those who are willing to bring side dishes for the day. We all really appreciate it and look forward to the good eats! I just wanted to let everyone know that we do have chaffing dishes to keep things hot as well. We forgot to mention that earlier. So if you have a hot dish that you would like to bring that's fine too, we'll transfer it to the chaffing dishes when you get here. Just please leave a comment that includes what you are going to bring or if you have any questions.

Go Dawgs!

A Cowboy fan reacts to playing UGA

We've nailed the meat portion of the menu the Oklahoma State game. We're serving Brisket, Beef Ribs and Pork Ribs. The brisket is a nod towards the cow herdering visitors that are coming to town to play our Dawgs. The pork is being served because...well...it's pork. And therefore it's awesome.

Tiffany will smoke the meat for 15+ hours on Friday and coat them with plenty of Tender Loving Care.

As for side dishes. We need your help!
It's impossible for any one or two people to prepare enough sides for a group our size. We need you guys to bring veggies, starches and anything else that goes well with BBQ beef or pork.

Please use the comments button below, and let us know if you're planing to bring a side. We're going to be serving both lunch and dinner, so we're going to need a LOT of food to serve a group this size.

Remember Night Game (6:45 pm start) + Home Opener = Large Crowd

If you're bringing any guests, that's great. Just let us know to prepare more food. Please use the comments section to do that as well.

Lastly -- if you will subscribe to this blog via email using the button over on the left, you'll get all our tailgate menus and updates sent to you in advance. Coming soon...news about the enhancements to our tailgate experience!

Season Outlook Article on Georgiadogs.com

The official UGA site has its preseason look at the Dawgs online. It basically says, "Neil Callaway didn't recruit any good offensive linemen for a bunch of years, blah, blah, blah. We're depending on guys you've never heard of at OL, blah, blah, blah. We're glad he's gone."

Ok, it doesn't say that. But it should.

Here's how the Video thing on the right works

Mouse over a video, and you'll see the title of the video. If you want to watch it, just click on it. The site will open the video at the top of the page. It's pretty cool.

However, like anything else with Youtube, the quality is all over the place. I don't pick the videos. It's just searching on Georgia Bulldog related keywords. So if you get crap. Blame Google. They own Youtube.

If no one is into it, I'll delete it.

Bloggy Renovations

I finally fixed the logo. TW -- if you want to go into the template and adjust it, feel free. The weather app that you added last year was great. It got lost when we moved over to the new blogger.

Georgia Tech Kickoff at 3:30 pm on CBS

They have announced the kickoff for the GT game. A 3:30 kickoff will give us time to put together a bigger event. Probably not something as large as the UT Extravaganza, but it'll be interesting.

We're going to do Chili - everyone bring a pot of something warm to eat. We'll having chaffing dishes to keep things warm and we can probably run some crock pots too, since our generator is big enough to power most of the tailgates on South Campus :)

If you can't bring some Chili or a pot of something for others to eat then we could use the following items:

    Fritos
    Sour Cream
    Shredded Cheddar Cheese
    Corn Bread
and any other condiments that are good with Chili.
Please use the comments section to let us know what you are bringing. We hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving, safe travels and good time with family!

In the meantime, this cracks me up every time I see it.
